Looking Straight, Not looking up.
Looking straight ahead as if laser focused can be looked at as a skill. But what about when it comes to being observant about what is going on in your community. Looking straight or "tunnel vision" as it is so often called can lead a person to not be aware of what is going on.
Often, we can look at the next generation with destain rather than hope. But what are we doing to instill hope within them. "I didn't see that growing up" can be a common refrain, but it does not have to be.
You can be the image that you did not see growing up. You can be that light that you did not have and help illuminate the path for someone else who is coming behind you so that when they look up, they see you as an example instead of only looking straight ahead and not being aware of the need of the community that surrounds them.
